Yes, I’m back again, LOL! Feeling the urge to share and hear from people.

For now, I’ll continue to write a blog but I’m thinking this will eventually turn into a vlog.

So let me dive right in…I was speaking to my sister about how much we love new worship music, that it glorifies God and gets us into a place to see God for who he is. But we also recognize the solid gospel songs of the past that talk about how God saved us and has a place for us to be with him in heaven.

Couple this with the challenge our pastor gave us to research and believe the promises that God stated in the Bible and BOOM, this old hymn came to mind…”Standing on the promises” by Russell Carter from the 1800s. The second verse really caught my attention.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

Did you know that in the Bible there are more than 3000 promises? Some to specific people in the Bible and some to us.

If you have the YouVersion Bible app, there is a plan called “365 Days of Promise” that gives you a verse and then asks you to ‘talk it over’ or write notes about what the version means to you or what stands out. I’m only on day 16 but the one that has just rocked my world so far is this one:

“The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” Exodus 14:14

OUCH!!!!

In today’s world where everyone has an opinion and believe me, I ALWAYS have an opinion, it is hard to just shut my mouth and trust God that HE is going to fight for me.
