Family time

What is the definition of family time?  The 15 minute drive to a baseball or soccer game?  The 10 minute walk to/from school?  A couple of hours at the park after school with friends?  A quick chat over dinner?  Movie night?

I think we are getting to the point in our family that any time is considered family time if we are sharing about our day and talking about our lives.  In our fast-paced society the time on the front porch relaxing in the evenings or hours playing board games is becoming more rare.  We end up snatching moments of time when we are all together and have even a few minutes of undivided attention.

Does that mean that we are too busy?  That family time isn’t as important as it used to be?

If your family is serious about spending time together, you will adapt to the lifestyle that you have created and make every minute count.  You’ll find yourself discussing important matters while shopping at Costco or doing lawn work.

Joe just said to me that we need to make it a priority to play some card or board games while we have family visiting for Thanksgiving.  It will be one of the many things that we are thankful for during this season.
