Are we too connected?

Are we relying on technology too much for relationships and not creating “REAL” friendships?

I thought about this as:
– I worried that I had not updated my personal blog in a while
– I started an account on Twitter (one for me as a representative of my company and one for my company)
– I downloaded applications for Twitter and Facebook to my iPhone
– I started posting updates to my “wall” in Facebook
– I developed content for my blog at work (both of them)
– I created a Facebook account for my company
– I continued to answers questions and “network” on LinkedIn

So that comes to what:
– 3 blogs
– 2 Twitter accounts
– 2 Facebook accounts
– 1 LinkedIn profile

Are we insane or what? What I really want to do is spend more time with the girls in my book club (we are reading Mansfield Park by Jane Austin). I want to have more dinner parties and “REALLY” get to know my friends. I want to be a good mentor (every Tuesday I go with a few people from my company to a local middle school, get to know the kids and see how we can help to positively influence their lives). I want to scrapbook (still working on my wedding album, now more than 5 years overdue). I want to workout more (instead I sit on the couch holding my son and watch The Biggest Loser).

What now? All I know is I need to sleep more. 6am conference calls for work and late nights updating all my social media sites is a little much.
