The Meaning of Life

I guess you are really expecting me to share some deep and insightful wisdom right now. I have to admit that at this point, I don’t really have anything that will rock your world. What I do have is some thoughts to share.

The past 2 weeks have been extremely trying both personally and professionally. I have been working long hours, sometimes until midnight, while sacrificing time with my family and ignoring my own needs. I am sure that many of you reading this right now can relate. You feel worn down, wondering when you are going to find a time to relax and re-energize.

Let me give you some advice (even if you aren’t asking).

Spend time with family!!!! Yesterday I had the privilege of spending time with Pam, one of my sisters, that I don’t normally get to see. She is my next younger sister (I am the oldest, then Pam, Lois, then Amanda) and at one time we shared a place with another girl right after we all got out of college. I wasn’t sure after that time if we would ever be close because as you might know, living with family can be a challenge.

I was amazed at how relaxing our conversation was. How easily we caught up. Talked about our kids. Shared our frustrations. Talked about our dreams for the future (like getting out of debt). Even though I didn’t get much sleep last night (Colt has decided that 5am is now his wake-up time), I felt more calm today than I have in a while.

Thanks Pam. And thank God for family.
