Music has such impact on us an individuals and as a society. A friend of mine is teaching her 22 month old son a curriculum called Musikgarten. It is amazing how children are automatically drawn to music. Colt, our 2-year old, loves to watch Dancing with the Stars with me. He dances with me, shakes to the music and laughs so hard. He also loves the piano and wants me or Joe to sit on the piano stool with him and play. When grandma “Zee” (Joe’s mom) comes to visit, he will follow her into the guest room and turn on the radio. He will stand there and dance to the music. I guess the love of music is demonstrated in the popularity of iTunes and American Idol.
I am amazed at the diversity of music that God has gifted to people. I am not saying that I agree with all types of music and I joke that Country music is depressing and surely cannot be from God (ha ha). But all joking aside, it does bother me that there are music celebrities that our children will look to as they grow up and will see them as an inspiration. I pray that our son will know the difference between the music and those that spent the profits on things that do not honor our God.
