A post with this headline would normally take a novel to fill, but I will write a few paragraphs and see where it leads us.
1. I want to share a little more insight on a book I mentioned in my last post called “The Shack” by William Young. I was discussing the book today with a lady at work, sharing how it has impacted my life. I admit that I have had a negative attitude toward my boss. He is hard to work for, making demands of me and my time that interfere with my ongoing work and at times, with my personal life. When I first started reporting directly to him, I made it known how difficult he was to work for and when asked my opinion of him, I did not keep it to myself. I was corrected by God for my attitude, but is has been difficult keeping my mouth shut. This book, through insights and analogies, directly points out the harm in JUDGING and UNFORGIVENESS and how that is something that we do as humans that we are not qualified to do because we do not have the insight that God has into others. I will say that right now I am seeking to find out more about JUDGING and how to FORGIVE.
2. In a couple months, my son will be 2 years old. Another blessing in our lives that is wonderful yet challenging. Even as I write this, I can hear him through the baby monitor in his room as he settles down to sleep. “Mom-my, mom-my” he says as he drifts off to sleep wanting me to hold him and rock him one more time. AHHHH, how cute you say. Yes, but then there is the minutes before bedtime when I get home from work and try to eat dinner prior to playing with him. He is tired and wants my attention so he tries to grab at my fork and flips food across the room. Yes, he is cute and I love him.
3. I am sitting here watching The Biggest Loser. Every season I watch it and think “I can do that too if I only put my mind to it.” I have been working out during lunch at work with a friend for the past couple months. We missed 2 weeks as a result of time off and busy schedules but we are back at it. I guess making Oatmeal/Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chip Cookies on Sunday evening isn’t going to help. But for those of you who don’t really care about those silly calories or fat grams, here is a great recipe!
