Canton Trade Days – First Monday

Now I know why they call it Canton Trade Days. You trade your hard-earned money for–well, what ever you want! You name it, they have it.

From arts and crafts to antiques and “junk.” Corny dogs, funnel cakes, under-cooked hotdogs, homemade icecream. Something for everyone. AND, in case you don’t feel like walking, they have scooters that you can rent and ride all day. These scooters are not just for the disabled, OH NO. I saw people that I thought SHOULD be walking riding their way through tight aisles. Sometimes stopping in the middle of the path to gaze at the vendor’s wares. Between the scooters, strollers, baskets on wheels (anyone who has gone to Canton knows what I mean), we were barely able to get through the crowded pavilions.

BUT, we found what we were looking for. A wooden toy box for Colt. It is beautiful (picture to come later). It is a toy box with a book case built on top of it. I love that because there are many accidents where kids pull TVs and other things on them when they try to climb up them so with the bookcase attached, that will not happen. The only catch is we have to stain it ourselves, but it is worth it to be able to give this gift to our son.

And to top off the weekend, we were able to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary by getting away for the weekend.

Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children…”
My husband is leaving a legacy of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galations 5:22-23). What a blessing to have such a wonderful relationship and to look foward to the future.

  1. The scooter people drive me NUTS!!! They’re fully capable of walking most of the time, but insist on turning even the most basic of tasks (spending money) into a death-defying free-for-all.It’s worse at Disney World. They park those things right in front of you at shows and parades… then put up their canopies!Miss you guys!
