Joe, me and Colt at the Texas State Fair in front of “Big Tex.” (Colt is the name for our son that I will use on the blog to protect the innocent. For those that know Joe, you can probably guess what Colt represents.)
The State Fair of Texas has come and gone and for the second time since I have lived here (more than 10 years), I went to the Fair.
First of all, I just have to brag on what an incredible son we have. We were there for more than 5 hours and he did not fuss once, even missing his naps!
I have to say that prior to going to the Fair, I heard several times (OK, a million times) from Joe that he didn’t want to go the car exhibit. I guess the first time he went, the people he went with only wanted to check out the auto show and it bored him to tears. So, we checked out the John Deere tent (as if that had nothing to do with autos) and Joe almost bought our son a wagon.
We strolled through stalls of exhibits and vendors selling their wares and I will have to admit that I did get drawn into one demonstration. It is for a product that will clean the soap scum and other film off your shower or bathtub. I watched in awe as the man told us of the miracle product (with no chemicals) that would magically dissolve the film on the shower/bathtub and make it so easy to scrub (yes, it even came with a scrubber) and then protect the shower so the next time it would be so much easier to clean. Visions of my aching back pushed me into convincing Joe that this was the miracle cleaner that I needed. So we bought some and I am trying it this weekend. I will keep everyone updated and if it really does work, then I will start buying stock in the product.
Other than the thrill of buying something, we had a wonderful day eating our corny dog, nachos and other tasty treats that are famous at the Fair.
