Things are changing

Not in a way that most people would think. We are not moving, changing jobs, or starting new projects. We are “getting back to the heart of worship.” Let me explain.

Since we have begun volunteering at our church in children’s ministry, which by the way is an incredible way to serve, we have noticed that we miss a lot of service and miss the fellowship. In fact, we haven’t been in a service at our church since Labor Day! We serve every other weekend but on the weekends that we could be in service, something has always come up. We were sick one weekend, our water was out due to leaky toilets, we were out of town, etc., etc. Now, we have to serve three weekends in a row and the next weekend we are going out of town for our anniversary (can you believe it has been 4 years?).

It is amazing that you really don’t know what you have until it is gone. We love our worship services! We love our pastor’s sermons! We love our friends! And it can become mundane and meaningless in life unless you have the connection with God.

So starting this week, we are now going to classes at the church on Wednesday and going to a worship service at another church on Saturday evenings when we have to serve. It is amazing how much more connected, not just with God, but with each other that I feel this week.

Life can really lose perspective when you just go through it and try to get to the next day.

Psalms 95: Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
