The woes of being sick

Since my last post, I was planning an update on the fate of transitioning our son to milk from formula. I will share a little on that subject then move on to the fate of our weekend.

First, I mentioned before how our son threw up after his first day of beginning to drink milk. Fortunately he has not thrown up since then, but the next disaster is hitting us hard. He has had constant dirty, runny diapers since then. And I don’t mean just the normal dirty diapers. I mean the smelly, watery kind that go everywhere! Since he was born, we have not faced this dilemma yet, but we now deal with it on an almost hourly basis.

For example, Saturday evening I was in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner {I will explain about our wonderful dinner later :0) } and I looked down to see our son playing in a mess on the floor. At first I thought he had spit up. OH HOW I WISH IT HAD JUST BEEN SPIT UP! He had exploded out of his diaper everywhere. We rushed him to the bathtub, gave him a bath and fixed him all up. Needless to say this was not the last time. Next time was in our bar area and the latest time was on our living room floor. {BTW, Resolve Carpet Cleaner works great.}

Now to transition our Saturday evening filled with poopy diapers into Sunday morning where Joe wakes up in the middle of the night vomiting. This continues through the morning (where we again missed church) and then it struck me. I believe at one point he was in one bathroom and I was in the other feeling the remnants of last nights dinner. We assume food poisoning, but whatever it was, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, or anyone else for that matter.

Joe recovered much quicker than me so he was able to take care of our son while I continued my trips to the bathroom to flush out the whatever I had eaten. Today, my rush to the bathroom is not as painful, but just as bad and I am glad that I stayed home from work.

Another day in our crazy household!
