I cannot believe it has been 2 weeks since I last posted a note. I truly miss putting my thoughts down on paper (uh, on the internet) for all to read and mull over.

Just to catch everyone up on the past several days, I will give a few quick bullets and hopefully come back to some later.

– Joe and I were able to “reconnect” with a weekend in Grapevine for Grapefest (two weekends ago). It was an incredibly beautiful day, sun shining, with the smell of funnel cakes, kennel corn, fresh squeezed lemonade and cotton candy wafting through the air (yes, I broke down and had a funnel cake). We strolled the streets marveling at the arts and crafts and just enjoying a day together.

– Work, work and more work. I think that says it all.

– Just this week we started transitioning our son on whole milk, away from formula. I think this was a shock to his system because the first night he was up vomiting. Not once, but twice. When I went to check on him again, he was just laying there in his crib looking up at me so pitifully. I broke my heart. I know when he really gets sick with a fever and cold that I will just go to pieces. I know that is part of being a parent, but I wish I could take all illnesses and put them on me so he wouldn’t have to suffer.

– And next Friday is his birthday! I can’t believe he is turning one! We now have him in a forward-facing car seat and he looks SO CUTE and like such a big boy. (Pictures to come)
