Some people do not understand a dedication so I had to explain. In the old testament, in the Bible, Hannah prayed for a child after not being able to conceive for many years. God heard her cry and blessed her with a son. When he was old enough, she took him to the temple and dedicated him to God and left him at the temple to serve God.

It is a tradition in many faiths to do the same. Dedicate your child to God so that he will know God all of his life. We wanted to do this with our son and it was even more special since we had trouble having a baby. The verse in the Bible that is on his wall in his room is I Samuel 1:27 “For this child I have prayed.” And we did pray, along with many of our friends and family. That is why this day was so special.

We invited our best friends and waited until our parents were able to come visit. It was a memorable day, celebrated with much joy and thanksgiving.
