The sounds of a baby

It is so fascinating to watch our son grow up. I know that our parents felt the same way. Every new sound that he makes, every new expression. But it is all so new to us.

Yesterday I took my son to the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) and the Nasher Sculpture Center to view paintings and sculptures from Henri Matisse. While walking through one of the exhibits, I heard a clicking noise. I looked down in the stroller to see what was going on. He was taking his tongue, sucking it down from the roof of his mouth and making a clicking noise. This was the first time he made this noise and it got me laughing so hard.

Then today, he started blowing bubbles and blowing through his lips.

We are trying to video tape as many of these new actions as we can. We try to remember to write in his baby book but when he is older he is going to think that he did nothing after six months old because we are lagging behind in documenting his monthly progress.

Another new thing is his rolling. Not only does he roll over from his back to his front, but now he rolls over and over and over and over until he is across the room.

So what else is new? My parents are coming for their annual visit and we are preparing our list of projects for my dad. Last year it was fixing an outside faucet, inside bath fixtures, etc. This year it is fixing an outside faucet (same one), and some other small outside projects.

It might just be warm enough for us to swim this week.
