I came home the other night and my husband said “Your cousin Angie said if you don’t mention her on your blog, she is not going to let us on her new yacht.” So I am proudly mentioning her name so we can sail along on her new boat when we come to visit. Of course she didn’t even offer to let us ride on their new jet skis, so I am not holding my breath waiting for an invitation to go to the lake. 🙂
Blogging two nights in a row is a miracle for me at this time in life. When I first started, I couldn’t wait to come home and dictate my thoughts, through my fingers onto the keyboard and into the realm of blogs. I still long to write and let my thoughts flow but long hours at work and focus on my family has kept me from sharing.
Tonight, I have had the pleasure of it all. I came home and Joe had fixed a homemade pizza for us (our new favorite evening meal, low fat). We relaxed while our son took a nap, then when he woke up we put him in the stroller and went for a walk. We came home, I played with him, fed him and then put him to bed. Now I am watching the Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs while spewing out thoughts.
So what is on my mind these days? Where should I start?!
– I am again trying to get healthy. This past week I lost 3 pounds. Not really that much, but a good start. I just need to continue. I want to get fit and be able to play with my son. I am hoping this summer that I will have time in the evening for more activities.
– Rosie O’Donnell is leaving “The View.” Yeah!
– We are almost out of the drought here in North Texas. Most of our lakes are back to normal levels.
– We will be able to swim soon! I can’t wait to get into our pool.
– We took our son to the pediatrician today for his 6 month well visit (even though he is almost 7 months). He was so tired he fell asleep then the nurse had to wake him up to give him shots. He is so tough! He cried at first (I think more because it hurt his feelings) but within seconds, he was done crying and happy to be held by us.
– And finally, when Joe’s aunt Carol was here, the bluebonnets (Texas state flower) were in bloom. Trying to be a good mom, I took our son out and tried to sit him in the bluebonnets to take a picture. He cannot sit up yet, so he kept falling down and crying so I finally gave up. I thought “Well, since I am here I might as well take a few pictures of the beautiful bluebonnets.”
While fumbling with the camera (and trying to hold my son at the same time) I must have hit a button on the camera and here is how the bluebonnets look. Ironic huh? It just doesn’t look the same in black and white. They look more like weeds. At least I know that feature works on my camera (if I could just figure out how I did this in the first place).

well, it’s about time!!! You always have an open invitiation to hang around anywhere i am!!! including the jet skis!!! hope to see you soon!!!!
