So much to write, so little time…

I realize that I have not written in a while. There has been so much activity that I will summarize and come back later to expand.

– Joe’s aunt Carol came to visit from North Dakota. Of course the day after she arrives, we have horrible thunderstorms, including four tornadoes. The day she left, we again had incredible storms with at least three tornadoes. On her visit, Carol wanted to visit the Fort Worth Japanese Garden. The last time she was here not much was blooming so she wanted to go back and also experience the Japanese festival that they were hosting that weekend. So off we went. It turned out to be a FREEZING COLD day. I pushed my son around in a stroller with gloves on my fingers and blankets all around him. This was mid-April! Even though it was cold, we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

– This past weekend was Earth Day. Joe and I wanted to plant a tree when our son was born but due to limited finances, we put it off until later. This weekend seemed like the perfect time to search out varieties of trees for planting. Off we went to our local nursery and home we came with an Autumn Blaze Maple and a Forest Pansy Redbud. As we were planting them, Joe said that the maple would be for our son. I said, “I guess the other one is for us” meaning Joe and me. Joe said “Actually I was thinking that it would be in memorial for the two babies that we lost.” I know he didn’t see the tears behind my sunglasses.

– In a previous post, I mentioned that Joe was intent on buying a swing for our son. Well, the weather finally go warmer and we were able to actually put him in the swing. He loves it!
