The fun of living in Texas

Today was one of those days that made me question why I live in Texas. Yes, I have wonderful friends here. I met my husband here. I have a good job here.

But for those of us suffering from allergies, you’ve gotta HATE Texas, especially Dallas.

Let me start back in February of this year when I visited my allergist for my yearly appointment. He warned me.

“Start preparing now for a bad year. We had a wet winter so the allergens will be bad this year.”

So I have been very diligent about taking my medicine every day thinking to myself, “This isn’t any worse than last year.”

Then it hits me today!! My head was in a fog. Runny nose. Killer headache. Scratchy throat. I actually had to take some Benedryl on my way home just to survive. I was in such a daze when I got home that I had to sleep it off before proceeding through my evening. And to think that it may get worse. The horror of it all.

  1. Oh, I can completely empathize! I thought maybe it was just me, since I haven’t lived in DFW in 5 years but I guess not…it’s BAD this year! I take WalMart’s generic medicine called Chlortabs (they’re the only thing that don’t make me tired!) and sometimes Benadryl at night. Hope you feel better soon!
