Still giving thanks

The official holiday, Thanksgiving, is over but that doesn’t mean that we are supposed to stop giving thanks. I think most people are thankful during that one day (mainly) then the next day they are off shopping and frantically worrying about which present to buy and how much they have to spend (that they usually cannot afford) and how they will pay it off after the first of the year.

This year I am making a short list of the things that I am thankful for. Not just during this time of year, but all year long.
1. That God loved me so much that he sent his son to die for my sins.
2. For my husband, who seems to love me no matter what.
3. For my son, who is healthy.
4. For my family, even though I don’t get to see them that often. I have realized how important my family is and how supportive we are of each other.
5. For my health. I do not look like a model and could exercise more often, but I have no life threatening illnesses.
6. For my church, where I am free to worship anytime I like.
7. For my friends. They are always there when I need them and I pray that I am always there for them.
8. For a place to lay my head at night. Our house is not the most expensive or best decorated, but it keeps us warm at night.
9. For finances. We have always been able to pay our bills, not matter what our circumstances.
10. For life.

If I sat down and listed all my blessings that I am thankful for, this blog would go on and on.
“Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done.”
