Let me begin by saying that we are now operating under normal circumstances, from what I hear. The first couple of days at home we were not.
It started out that our little baby K was a little jaundice, which we found out was normal. All babies have something called bilirubin in their blood when they are born. With normal feedings, it is expelled during normal bowel movements. Well our little boy was not eating properly so he
was not expelling it enough and his levels became high. With him not eating enough, he was also fussy and up half (OK, most) of the night and day.
After a couple of days with little sleep, we visited the pediatrician and he informed us we had to increase his formula intake significantly.
Well we have a new baby now! He is eating properly, sleeping normally (every 2-3 hours up to feed) and giving us his adorable looks.
Here he is at 6 days old falling asleep in Granny’s arms.
Did he look like a little pumpkin? Those are SO cute…yet oddly weird! 🙂 Hope he’s doing well now…and eating like a champ!
