Its a cricket day

House Cricket Photo, James H. Robinson
Have you ever had one of those days that just annoyed you? It could be because you aren’t feeling well. Or you have too much work to do and not enough time. Or, it could be because you are tired from lack of sleep.

Whatever the reason, we all have those “cricket” days where we get annoyed over little things. I am thinking about that as I sit in my office and listen to a cricket somewhere in the house. It is very elusive. I walk toward the constant chirping, into the bedroom. The sound gets softer. I follow the sound into the bathroom. Again it goes away. I stand in the hallway, leaning into each room where the chirping seems to disappear. Then I realize. I am standing under the attic door. GREAT!

This also happened at a client over the past couple of weeks. A constant chirping. One person chased a cricket into my cube, then into another cube and finally caught it. I think they only caught one family member because the noise continues. It is hard to concentrate with the constant chirping. Reminds me of a dripping faucet.

That is what happens to your day. You are easily distracted. Things bother you and you have a “cricket” day.
