Pregnancy realities

A couple of updates for this week from pregnancy.org.
– The baby is approximately 3.75 lbs and more than 16 inches long. No wonder he is cramped inside and kicking to get out!
– Fetus may hiccup, cry, taste sweet and sour, and respond to pain, light, and sound.
– Your baby’s tastebuds develop.
– You may gain weight faster now than any other point in your pregnancy. GREAT!
– Baby’s bones get stronger, limbs get fatter, and skin takes on a healthy glow. Cool!

I have been feeling under the weather a little with stomach problems. I also feel like I am constantly having hot flashes. My husband read somewhere that pregnant women sometimes have flu-like symptoms during their last trimester. I can’t find where he read that, but I hope that this is all from the pregnancy and that I haven’t caught a bug.

I do know the weather has been causing me some severe allergy problems, but today brought blessed relief as the rain passed over, calming things down and providing a reprieve from the suffering.

Less than 8 weeks to go. We still have to paint the baby’s room, buy a few more items and set up the room. This weekend at church someone asked how much longer I had. When I told her she said “At this point, my baby was already 2 weeks old.” She had her baby 10 weeks early. I think that lit a little fire under us to say that it really could happen any day.

I guess I need to pack a quick bag for the hospital and buy the car seat, just in case.
