There is an old hymn that we used to sing at our church that stated “I am blessed. Everyday of my life I am am blessed. When I wake up in the morning til I lay my head to rest, I am blessed.”

This weekend was another confirmation in my life of how blessed I am. Our friends hosted a baby shower for us and I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I was with the wonderful feelings of friendship and love from my friends. And the wonderful thing is I know that it just wasn’t because we are having a baby. These are the friendships that are tried in the fire. Tested with long distances. And have persevered through long stretches of busyness.

And one thing that my husband and I talked about after the shower. When you invest time and love in a friendship, just like investing money, it will come back to you with a wonderful increase.

I challenge you today that if you have not been investing in relationships, you are missing out on one of the most important gifts that God has given us. As most financial books will say, “It is never too late to start investing.”
