Deep thoughts for the week…

It has been almost a week since I have had time to write a few thoughts. Since last time, I have had so many things come to mind but have not had time to write so I will consolidate a few and possibly revisit in another entry.

Global Day of Prayer – Yesterday was a Global Day of Prayer. Our church participated in a celebration at Reunion Arena here in Dallas with several other churches. We saw videos from other parts of the world where they were also gathered together to pray and worship God. We are so blessed that we do have the ability to gather to pray and not fear that our government will come arrest us and put us in jail or that our neighbors will come and burn our houses down because we believe in God.

Steroid Abuse – I am volunteering with an organization called the Taylor Hooton Foundation. This organization is committed to eradicating the use of Performance Enhancement Drugs in the youth population. I was so naive in my understanding of steroid use and abuse. It is estimated that 3-5% of high school students have used steriods (including girls). More to come on this.

Pregnancy – Tomorrow we find out if we are having a boy or girl. My husband is so excited! I will be excited tomorrow. I am trying to explain (and I think my husband now understands) that I am very much a here and now person. I don’t dwell on the past and I am not good at looking to the future. I live in the moment. This has been hard for him during the pregnancy because he is a planner and wants to know if I think it will be OK to put our child in our pool starting at 6 months, or do we want to take our child camping with us next year, or will we change where we sit in church so we can be near the baby changing station. I told him when the time comes, we will decide.

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication…

You will notice each week I am learning more about blogging. This week I have learned to link to other sites.
